Our Love Story

Our story began with a simple Facebook message that would unknowingly change our lives. At the time, we were complete strangers.

Gurswin sent Michaela a message thanking her for accepting his friend request and shared the words, “light attracts light.” Although Michaela knew exactly what he meant, she playfully asked, “Whose light?” His answer confirmed what she already knew, he was referring to the light of the Lord. From that moment, it became clear that their connection would be rooted in faith.

We began speaking daily, sharing conversations about life, purpose, and the Word of God. Through scripture, encouragement, and meaningful discussions, we came to know each other’s hearts, values, and dreams. Over five months of messages and phone calls, we built a foundation shaped by patience, trust, and Christ at the centre. Although Gurswin hoped to meet sooner, Michaela felt it was important to wait for the right time, and he honoured that decision with respect and understanding.

When we finally met in person, it felt familiar rather than new. Nervous, Gurswin walked straight past Michaela and greeted her parents first, completely forgetting to greet her. After a gentle reminder, he nervously greeted her, a moment we still laugh about today.

What makes our journey special is that Christ has always been at the centre. What began as strangers became friendship, and then love, guided by God’s light, grace, and perfect timing.
